April is Derby Month
A couple weeks ago I played in the opening game of the Bay Area Derby Girls 2008 Roller Derby season. My team (the Oakland Outlaws) beat the Richmond Wrecking Belles, the 2007 (previously) undefeated champions! It was good to get back in the game.
Our next game is April 26th and in Oakland. I'll post more details when tickets go on sale. This will be my last game (again) with the Bay Area Derby Girls as I'll be moving back to Seattle in May!
This weekend the BAD girls are co-hosting The Big One, a California Flat Track Roller Derby Championship in Davis, California. It will be two days of California's best derby leagues competing against each other in a battle for the championship title. I won't be skating in the tournament, but I'll be announcing both days. If you love derby, tournaments are an excellent way to get your fill in a short period of time. Tickets are available online, check the website for the schedule.
